2015 2016 DAL Workshops

Workshops Fees

Per the DAL bylaws all Workshop Fees are due to the coordinator 30 days prior to the class. Non DAL Members will be assessed an additional $10 per day. If a payment is not received on time, that slot can be given to a new participant. We have to meet a pre-negotiated minimum number of students to conduct these workshops. If you have a conflict and need to cancel please notify Charylene immediately.

DAL 2016 - 2017 Program speaker / demonstrator

THE SEPTEMBER 12 MEETING PROGRAM. Presented by Debbie Newton, VP Program chair, a DVD by Lian Zhen, our January Artist will be viewed. Please fill in the questionnaire from Programs to assist them with your interests in the art field. Leave it on the table as you exit.

THE OCTOBER 3 MEETING SPEAKER IS TERRY MILLETT. Terry Millett, is a local artist and quiltmaker. She was chosen to be the Artist in Residence for the 5th Session of Empty Spools Seminars in 2017 at Asilomar in Pacific Groves. She will be showing us her presentation and talking about her skills.

Her inspiration comes from nature and she likes to share her appreciation of the unlimited visual gifts that surround us. She does this by focusing attention on small objects by enlarging them or reducing large landscape vistas to wall size art.

Occasionally she makes up compositions by adapting elements from photographs. Her quilts have been published and she has won several ribbons in our local fair and some of her quilts have gone to Paducah.

THE NOVEMBER 7 MEETING PROGRAM: ART AUCTION. 7:00 - 9:00 art supplies, paints, paper, mats, frames, etc. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

THE JANUARY 9 MEETING MEETING SPEAKER IS LIAN QUAN ZHEN. Lian Quan Zhen will give a demo on his techniques for watercolor.

THE FEBRUARY 6 MEETING SPEAKER IS CAROLYN MCDANIEL. Carolyn McDaniel, has retired from teaching Art at Trona. She is sharing with us the art she enjoyed doing with her students.

THE MARCH 6 PROGRAM: Maturango Museum - Docents will give a demo of the art sessions they present to the Sierra Sands District Schools.

THE APRIL 3 PROGRAM: Frances Nichols, a local artist that has a exhibit at this time at Alta One will share her Pastels and Watercolor techniques.

THE MAY 1 PROGRAM: John Adams, a local artist and woodworker. He will present some of his work and tell the process he uses.
